Students evacuated Niles West today after a fire alarm went off right before eighth period.
According to assistant principal Kendall Griffin, school administrators believe the fire alarm was pulled by someone in the school. Whether it was purposeful or accidental is still unknown, he said.
“I felt very excited,” senior Atourina Gorgis said. “Everyone was going crazy. Everyone was just getting in the way and it was crowded. People were talking, and yelling, and blowing whistles saying, ‘hell yeah! We get to miss some class.’”
Freshman Sokol Delisi, however, said he was displeased.
“I’m upset. I’m missing biology with Mr. Serafini,” he said.
